Rida Lyammouri
SENIOR ADVISOR FOR THE SAHEL AND WEST AFRICA
Mr. Rida Lyammouri has a strong background in international development and security, with specific focus in monitoring and studying conflicts and stability in the Sahel and West Africa. Rida focuses specifically on illicit activities, good governance, conflict resolution and prevention, countering violent extremism and peace building. In the last 10 years, Rida has supported numerous United States, United Nations, and European Union funded international development and humanitarian organizations working on the West African Sahel. Through his experience and expertise as a researcher, advisor and practitioner, Rida engages frequently in formal briefings and informal consultations with representatives from the US government, EU partners, and African officials.
Rida has contributed to numerous in-depth research and analysis reports aimed at building a deeper understanding of regional and domestic challenges. He is often solicited by various stakeholders to provide policy recommendations on how to address various security, economic and political challenges related to West African Sahel. Rida holds a master's degree in Public Policy with an emphasis on National Security from the School of Policy, Government and International Affairs at George Mason Universit
